George Shinkan believes the Munster Town Council's highest priority must be its residents. A Munster native, George grew up watching Munster change and grow to become the established and desirable community we now enjoy. As a Munster parent, homeowner and business owner, George has gained a comprehensive understanding of what makes Munster so special. His unique combination of understanding Munster's evolution and his strong business acumen will ensure the Town's continued success. George's priorities are the same as yours: strong property values, excellent schools and a safe community. Outside influencers and developers will be scrutinized through the lens of "what is best for Munster residents."

& CLERK-TREASURER
Munster's elected town government is comprised of the Town Council and Clerk-Treasurer. The Town Council is a 5 member executive board, who create policy and appoint/hire municipal staff and contractors to enact the Council's directives. The Clerk-Treasurer serves as the CFO for the town and is not a voting member of the Council.
Each member of the Town Council is elected "at large" all elected Council Members represent all residents of the Town. However, the Town is divided into 5 geographic wards. From each ward, a single Council Member is elected.
The role of the Town Council, is to represent the best interests of the Town's residents and investors. Likewise, the Clerk-Treasurer is elected to manage the Town's financial interests in cooperation with the Town Council.
The term for Town Council and Clerk-Treasurer is 4 years. The next term begins in January, 2024.
